Splitboarding Weekend at Lidernenhütte

The weather is one of those fickle mistresses that doesn't like to cooperate when I take all my friends to the mountain. Although this year had some epic snowfall, it wasn't always there for the weekends with crew and camera. This was one of those weekends, where we stayed overnight in the Lidernenhütte and planned to do multiple tours in the region.

As luck would have it, we were in complete white-out, which made for a rather dizzying and discomforting descent in between the band of cliffs we were on top of. The thickest fog I've ever been in, with no sight beyond the buckles of my bindings. Fortunately there was a big group with a ski-guide, who were in much better spirits than us. We tagged on to them until we made it back to the hut, hoping day two would be kinder.

The final meters before finding the cars. Up until this bridge we had no idea if we were anywhere close to our destination...

As you may have noticed from previous tours, there's not much riding to be seen. That's unfortunately due to the fact that riding could literally not be seen. Next season I'll order more sun!

Thanks for stopping by,
